This antique silver plate six slice toast rack, in the design of Thistles - Scotland's national flower, is a very rare example of the early work done by Stewart Dawson & Co, watchmakers and silversmiths. Established in Scotland in 1869 by David Stewart Dawson, they moved to London in 1897, selling their wares domestically and internationally, with Australia being a very prominent customer. So much so that SD & Co opened a number of premises in Australia.
