The Tlatilcans were a pre-Colombian people who lived along the shores of Lake Texcoco, near what is now Mexico City, from about 1200 BCE to 200 BCE. They are now most well known for their small elaborate usually female figurines; these objects are sometimes referred to as "the pretty ladies of Tlatilco," and are some of the earliest examples of ceramic figures unearthed thus far.
